Miss Universe/USA/Teen USA pageant

A bit of backstory here: Trump bought back Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA from NBCUniversal in September after Univision and NBC ended their five-year deal to broadcast the pageants, following Trump’s controversial comments about Mexican immigrants. Trump eventually sold the rights to the pageant to entertainment conglomerate WME/IMG, with Fox picking up the domestic rights to air the pageants. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 21, 2015 Trump stated that this shitshow would have never happened under his management: Very sad what happened last night at the Miss Universe Pageant. July 2015. Macy’s CEO decides to drop the Donald Trump product line over disagreements with Trump’s remarks on immigrants and immigration policy. DJT called for a boycott: For all of those who want to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain, boycott @Macys. They are weak on border security & stopping illegal immigration. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 1, 2015 And six months later, the stock price halved. Apparently the boycott (or the curse) was very effective. Good news, disloyal @Macys stock is in a total free fall. Don't shop there for Christmas! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 4, 2015 (UPDATED JANUARY 2017) Macy’s difficulties do not seem to stop: Sources:
